Review: A Year In Colour: A Drawing a Week to Colour Yourself Calm (Colouring Book)

Amber Anderson does an amazing job of illustrating 52 fantastic and beautiful pictures for us to enjoy over the year. Colouring yourself calm is the main objective of this book with inspirational and motivational quotes alongside the pictures.

Nature is the theme of these illustrations with hot air balloons flying high, family of ducks swimming in a river and a observatory sitting under the bright stars of the night sky, just to list a few. The book is small in size, this allows a person to easily store the book in a bag they use for work, school, or university. I would note that you will use a lot of green because most pictures contains foliage, unless you want your imagination to run wild and have blue hills, pink skies and purple leaves.

As you can see by the picture above, the main layout is a blank page on the left allowing writing and notes to be taken, with an inspirational quote at the bottom. This is followed by a colourless picture allowing you to colour yourself calm. There are plenty of articles and research out there that states that colouring is good for your mental health and is great to relax and calm yourself.

This book is amazing value for just over £10 considering it is used all year and for some people everyday. The book released in 2015 so it may be hard to find it in your local books store but it’s always worth a look. Amazon stocks the book which you can find here.

I would highly recommend this book if you are trying to find new ways to relax with little or lots of time on your hands. Thanks for reading and I hope you found this helpful.
